Jonas spent a great deal of time stuck in the post-apocalyptic future of Winden, where all his loved ones had died in an explosion at the nuclear power plant.
In the future, Winden was run by Elisabeth Doppler (Sandra Borgmann), who knew about Sic Mundus and promised her followers they would be rewarded with paradise one day.
She stopped her followers from going to the ruins of the power plant, which contained the God Particle – a black, unstable spherical entity which allowed people to travel through time.
